Originally, I wanted to focus throughout the modules on creating one body of work to go towards the final major project, all based around alternative education.

However after lots of reading, thinking, and being a bit melodramatic… soul searching, over the past few weeks, I’m instead leaning towards using the modules prior to the FMP to photographically investigate the “how’ I got to alternative education in the first place, the paths, and decisions, and choices that lead me there. Before finally undertaking the FMP photographing & ‘interviewing’ a range of individuals, families, and groups showing the philosophical beliefs & lives of those who choose alternative education .

Initially, during this module, I am going to look at ideas around fears and anxieties, and obsessional thoughts, which is, paradoxically, giving me fears and anxiety in itself.

So these images are somewhat disjointed. I had originally just been photographing our own children as a way of thinking about what kind of images I would like to take, and the ‘look’ and ‘feel’ that I am wanting to portray with them.  The last slide of images happened before I had had time to think about the slight deviation in my plan, but the images highlight certain anxieties I have had surrounding our children, and parenting for many years.
