Reflect upon the content discussed this week.

With your Research Project Proposal in mind, you may wish to think about the existing audiences you have for your practice; how you can extend this, and what new audiences your research project might be relevant to.

Up to this point, in my work practice my audience has been predominantly mothers in the 20-45 year age range. For this project I still see a large base of my audience being mothers (and fathers) but also I think the project will be of interest to people who work with children , especially in some form of learning capacity, be it teachers, private tutors, home educating facilitators, forest school leaders, council workers, and more. Really the project I would hope, would appeal to anyone with an interest in pedagogy , whatever angle they are coming from. There is also the potential for it to be interesting from a psychological point of view as well. How I will access all of these different audiences , and encourage them to view the work though is a different question. Just because you know something could, or should be of interest to someone, or a group of people, it doesn’t necessarily follow that they will then stumble upon the work. This is something I will be considering over the coming weeks, and will be including in my research project proposal.

We should also of been researching research proposals , to get a better understanding of how they work, good and bad, and effective ones. In truth though I fell behind with my workload whilst in Arles, so I have been concentrating on that, and on my reading (I have been reading one of our tutors works along with various studies and overviews on the pedagogy of how children learn so as to better inform my work) these have all been very insightful, but combined with my editing of past photoshoots mean as I say, I fell behind , and had to decide which was the most important of my ‘to do list’ items…. and researching kickstarter and crowdfunding campaigns, and grant proposals ended up not being high on the list. I’m now back up to date with my business work though , so will be cracking on with more research before hopefully having a final draft of my proposal in the next week, ready to submit for review for early next week, and to be handed in by the 19th.
