Easter holidays – ALBUM WALKTHROUGH 19.04.20

Easter holidays – ALBUM WALKTHROUGH 19.04.20

The following is the walkthrough of my album from this module’s WIP , my final outcome of my research project.

I remade the walkthrough as the first initial recording was very unprofessional I felt. I don’t own a tripod and the film is really shaky. The final one still has movement but significantly less. I left more room around the album so as to ‘coverup’ the shake a little (allows for more movement before the frame edge comes into contact with the album outlines) .

I also used my younger son this time rather than my daughter, as in the initial video to do the walk through. I did this as being younger, his hands still look kind of ‘baby’ like, and I felt this worked really well. It shows the collaboration between the children and I in this project, and that they are ethically happy to be involved as well, as taking a photo of a child is one thing, but getting them to film quietly for a few monikers would be very hard if they didn’t really want to be involved as any parent will know. I am much happier with this second walkthrough, but will still need to purchase a tripod before next module as I plan on producing another book, as more trial and error towards the FMP where my final outcome will be an album alongside an exhibition.

Another decision I made was to leave the audio in. I reduced background noise and image stabilisation as much as possible, but then I left the audio as I really liked the sound of the birds and the turning pages going with the video, and the project. The turning pages, and audio representing the two opposing sides of my project, the noise of the pages turning feel confined and claustrophobic, stifling . The wind feels like you are surrounded, and caught up in something, good, but unsettling. Where as the birds and the outside location represent the freedom, and life.
