I had asked Lu if I could take photographs of her and her family, as I wanted to try to illustrate what home education to a large family can look like. Lu and I had a great chat about how she started implementing things like, colouring during read-a-loud time, as she found she was trying to do things, that were just making life hard on her, and with a bit of tweaking and altering to better suit her family and their needs, she was able to do the things that she wanted to with the children, and everyone was happy. Perfect example of how home education, isn’t just about how doing one thing one way always works, and that each family, every year, every month, every week , sometimes every day can ,and sometimes needs to, find new ways of making the learning work for their own families, adapting as life goes on and our children grow and their needs changed. A true individualised learning.
Below – I absolutely adore this shot below. The girls were showing me their Christmas presents for last year, in great excitement and pride, and I managed to just grab a quick photograph of them before they were off again. I love the way they are connecting right with the camera.
