Week 10 ALBUM 06.04.20
Below is the video slideshow of the images I made of the dummy book I put together of the William Blake songs of innocence and experience and my WIP portfolio.
I do not think that this works for a number of reasons.
The size of the prints is off, they overwhelm the page and should be more delicate.
I had the idea of putting the images in both landscape and portrait orentation, as a comment on the way our lives have been turned upside-down recently, and the way we are all off kilter. I think this doesn’t work however as it looks like it is not intentional even though it was.
The paper I chose for the images from printspace ( Hahnemühle German Etching ) is not appropriate for this project, it is too thick, and that made it hard to get the pages to flow properly in the book. Also although these make stunning deep prints, they aren’t suitable outside of a frame as the ink rubs off them onto the page.
Off the back of this book being completed, I have also been rethinking my intent, specifically how to include images from after the coronavirus isolation, which I had settled on doing, and including in this WIP as you will see from the images below.
However, now I see this in a final form, I am quite resolved I think in going back to just showing images of the children’s education, and not ‘OF’ the way covid-19 has effected our family. Some of the images I use in my final WIP will still be images I took after the coronavirus isolation, however my WIP will no longer be produced as before Covid and after Covid, but a continuation instead. I will write more about this in coming posts.
