 ‘The Heutagogical Home’ is a deeply personal project which focuses on the alternative education of my children within their shared pedagogical space. 

 The images exploring the visual traces of a small but intense window of time in the lives of our home educating family, & the dynamics created by the interlocking and philosophically varied education of my four children. 

My two younger children engaging in a self directed learning experience, whilst my eldest sons move on from the heutagogical approach of autonomous education, to the structured, curriculum based learning of self educating through GCSE’s and A-levels .

‘The Heutagogical Home’ is a deeply personal project focusing on the traces of my children’s education within their shared pedagogical space.

Exploring a small but intense window of time in the lives of our home educating family, & the dynamics of the interlocking and philosophically opposed education of my four children. My eldest sons moving on from the heutagogical approach of autonomous education afforded to them and their siblings in prior years , to the structured curriculum based learning of self educating through GCSE’s and A-levels .

A few days ago I started working on my first statement of intent.

This is the first draft.

I am sure with the continuation of work throughout the module, this intent will adapt and change over the coming weeks.

 Statement of Intent  {Written 20.03.2020)

 

‘The Heutagogical Home’ explores a small but intense window of time in the lives of my own home educating family, & the dynamics of the interlocking and philosophically opposed education of my four children. 

 

Showing, the heutagogical approach of youngest child’s education, my two oldest sons working to an intense, structured time table of study to complete their A-levels and GCSE’s, & my daughter, in the limbo between these two periods in their pedagogical lives, all whilst I myself am completing an MA.

 

 This intensely personal project focuses on the traces of the children and their education within their pedagogical space.
