Unschooled Heuristic Outcomes , A Multimedia research project by Bekkie Graham.
Photography & interviews with over 60 adults aged 16-45 who were electively home educated across the U.K. as children.
During the reading of the schools bill in 2022 I had an exhibition of my research project Heuristic Outcomes in Westminster Palace. The exhibition was funded almost entirely through the crowdfunded (https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/home-education-art-exhibition-houses-of-parliament) where 654 people from the home educating community and supporters of my project managed to raise £12,331

I hope this sheds a light on how Home Education is such a precious way of educating children, for the parents who want to make this choice. We should support it and protect it, not make parents feel like they’re some sort of outcasts that need to be on a register, just like child sex offenders! The home education community are amazing in what they do with their children. They are a credit to encapsulating family live and instilling a lifelong love of learning, and people need to be made aware of the merits – school is no longer installing this love in so many children.
